Black Holes Imagined

This video is a pretty cool and recent look at Black Holes and what they might be, where they might go and more. It was produced by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It is a good look with pretty cool looking imaginings of what space and black holes look like. Enjoy!

Stephen Hawking Steps Down!

Posted in Random Musings, Space with tags , , , , , , on September 30, 2009 by Aaron

Today Dr. Stephen Hawking stepped down from one of the most famous academic positions in the world. When I first read that I was really worried that something was working with him! But no… he seems to be as fine as he has ever been.

The reason he is stepping down is because it is tradition that the Lucasian Professorship of Mathematics is relinquished at age 67. Not bad for a guy who was told he wouldn’t live past 25. He is the 17th person to hold this post and has been there since 1979.

He is now becoming the Director of Research (still at Cambridge) and hopefully will remain there for a long time to come! If you would like to read an article from a credible news source you can look here.
