When I was in Japan I learned that they teach them to say goodbye in English by saying “See You”! It sounded really strange to me at the time, I think it was just the way that they were saying it.

Now that I look around and pay attention, people actually say that a lot. Maybe it was their inflection and emphasis on trying to pronounce it properly. Either way, it is the common way that we say goodbye.
